Adobe Premiere Elements 10 - using the scissors tool

Like all software programs, there are always a lot of ways to do the same thing. For the most important part of editing your video, that is, taking the boring parts out, I have found the scissors tool to work well. This is how you do it:

Bring your video clip in using Get Media and then drag it to your sceneline. If, as is so often the case, nothing interesting happens for a while, play the video and then pause it where you actually want it to start, then click the scissors tool. You will see a new section appear in your sceneline. Click on the section that you want to go away, and your video will now start at the new point.

Be warned - this is a lot of fun, and potentially addicting. Don't be surprised if you laugh out loud (LOL) and want to post your videos to YouTube.
