How to post a link in Google+ correctly, and politely
Click on the little icon that looks like a little single propellor. Actually, it's supposed to look like a piece of chain link, I guess. Paste in the URL of the page that you want to link to. Take a moment to see what image displays, and the description. You can change that, you know.
But the most important thing is to write a little bit about it in the "Share what's new" box. That's essentially saying, "this link wasn't posted by a robot, it's really me, and I think that the people who have circled me may find this interesting." No, you don't have to explain more than that. Be sure to write more than, "hey, check this out", because that just sounds like a robot, too.
Just posting a link is like hitting the "forward" button on email, and people resent it. So personalize it a bit. Tell your followers why you posted it, what it means to you, and what it could mean to them.
