How to do Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
Believe me, your business, or blog, has been indexed by Google. It may be on page 1,576, but it's there. So Search Engine Optimization just means improving that. Of course, going from page 1.576 to page 432 won't really do you much good, but that's where you start.
I have helped many clients go from what I call a "stealth site" (virtually invisible on a Google search) to being very visible. No one can guarantee that you will always be on the first page of a Google search (unless you pay for an ad), but you can greatly increase your chances of being on the first couple of pages. This is why the industry of SEO has grown. But there are snakes in the grass.
If you know nothing about SEO, it can be as dangerous to your wallet as not knowing who owns the Brooklyn Bridge. Yes, there are some nasty people out there who are willing to take your money and give you nothing but impossible promises. You can also compare it to the industry out there that promises that you can lose fifty pounds in a week. And that leaves people like me, who can actually do SEO, at a little bit of a disadvantage.
Yes, I can help you with your SEO. But, unfortunately, it's not magic, and it's not easy. It's a combination of doing a lot of things right. A few years ago, this type of SEO was called "white hat", as in the white hats that the good guys wore in the old westerns. And that's now really all that works. Tricks and gimmicks have been worked out of the system. Google watched to see how people were cheating the system and built roadblocks. The only way to do it now is white hat.
Sorry to tell you that, no, you can't own the Brooklyn Bridge, and you can't lose fifty pounds in one week, in spite of what you might have heard. Search Engine Optimization is a process that takes a lot of work, and a lot of time. I can show you how to do it, whether you do it or not is your choice.
It won't happen overnight, but it will happen.
