Helvetica is still in style. And even though it's been around for over fifty years, it still gives a modern, clean feel to your design. But just using Helvetica won't give the look you are looking for unless you use it correctly.
• Use Helvetica, not Arial. If you're on a PC, you may not have Helvetica. If so, get it. Or design on a Mac. If you don't see any difference between Arial and Helvetica, then stick with word processing and spreadsheets, avoid doing design.
• Use Helvetica with proper kerning, proper use of quotation marks (not inch marks), proper word spacing. If you are unfamiliar with these terms, take a basic class in typography.
• For an elegant touch, use Helvetica Light. In fact, try to avoid extra bold as much as possible. The beauty of this typefaces really shines with the medium and light.
Use Helvetica. It's beautiful.
